Background:
Graduate of Olathe High School - Class of 79 - Played basketball, baseball and
cross-country.
Johnson County Community College - Associates Arts Degree, where I played
baseball, Jayhawk Conference Honorable Mention as a catcher. and basketball as a
walk-on.
Emporia State University Graduate - Majored in Data Processing with a minor in
Accounting.
Coaching Experience and Philosophy:
Youth coach since 1992, mainly in basketball and baseball.
AAU girls basketball experience 2001 - 2006:
Assistant coach for ages 10 - 14 U from 2001 - 2006
Head coach ages 10 and 11 U 2005 - 2006
Best Finishes:
- Assistant coach - 5th AAU Nationals Div I - 2001
- Head coach - Runner-up AAU Nationals Div II - 2006
Provide a environment and experience that stresses the importance of teamwork,
work ethic and sportsmanship. Work hard at teaching the game, at developing
players. mentally, fundamentally and preparing player for their next level of
competition.
Players will be asked to:
- Try hard to better themselves and their teammates;
- Be coachable and have a good attitude;
- Be a good teammate;
- Practice and play hard;
Truly believe that participation in sports helps to provide a foundation for
success in life and teach participants the value of working well with others,
self-discipline, dedication and the success that came from such.
Personal Notes:
Married 23 years to a wonderful and understanding wife "Sue". Father of 3,
daughter "Kristen" 21, son "Ryan" 19 and daughter "Ashley" 15.
